Jackie Venson (February 5, 1990) is an American singer and songwriter born in Austin, Texas. Venson completed her graduation from Berklee College of Music in 2011, studying studio production and composition. In 2011, Venson decided to pursue the guitar and began to learn.
Venson entered the Modern Southern Music Competition in April 2014 and won a headlining spot on the Belk Summer Tour. She has opened for popular country artists such as James Taylor, Tim McGraw, and Jason Aldean, even performing at the Austin Urban Music Festival. May 24 has been declared as Jackie Venson Day by Austin City Hall and, in her honor, held a concert to raise money for an Austin music school.
In 2014, Venson released her debut studio album entitled “The Light In Me” followed by her extended play released in 2016 entitled “Jackie Venson Live.” She has published one live album entitled “Live at Strange Brew.” Venson released another EP “Transcends” on September 30, 2017, and on October 30, 2018, she released a song with a live in-studio video entitled “Cover My Eyes.”
Venson is usually seen performing on the stage with a three-piece band of professional musicians. To create a unique layered sound in her solo live performances, she uses a loop pedal. Her musical influences include Alicia Keys, Sade, and Buddy Guy. Her notable singles are “Texas Night” (2015), “Only Have You” (2018), “Rolling and Tumblin” (2018), and “I Will Find A Way” (2018).
