Intervals Information
Intervals is a metal band from Canada. After leaving his former band, "Speak of the Devil," guitarist Aaron Marshall formed Intervals in Toronto, Ontario, in 2011 as a creative outlet. He recorded and programmed all of the components for The Space Between at his home studio, with Adam "Nolly" Getgood of Periphery mixing and mastering the album, released independently on December 20, 2011. Marshall sought but failed to establish a full band to turn Intervals into a touring act, complete with a vocalist.
On April 25, 2013, the band released a music video for "Epiphany" via Guitar World promotion and YouTube. Following the success of In Time, Ernie Ball Music Man, Pearl Drums, Meinl Cymbals, Toontrack, InTune Guitar Picks, and Gruv Gear signed endorsement relationships with the band. Marshall also made playthroughs and lessons available for some of the EP's tunes.
On September 14, 2013, Intervals announced that they would be entering the studio on November 4 with producer Jordan Valeriote (Silverstein, Structures, Counterparts) to begin tracking their future CD. Following the studio, Intervals were set to tour Europe with Protest The Hero, TesseracT, and The Safety Fire in January and February 2014.
On January 23, 2014, the band released "The Escape," the album's second single. The band stated on February 26 that each day until the album's release, they would reveal one new song from the album. "The Self Surrendered" was the first of these songs.
