Howie Day Information
Howard Kern "Howie" Day (January 15, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter from Bangor, Maine. He was raised in Brewer and began to play music at the age of 5 when his mother brought a piano at an auction. His mother also enrolled him for piano lessons observing his hidden talent. Day went to Brewer High School. He shifted his interest to rock music and the electric guitar when he was 13. After getting him enrolled for basic vocal training, his father allowed him to play every Friday night for patrons visiting their popular local restaurant.
The first stage appearance by Day was made in August 1996 at Bangor restaurant Captain Nick's. He also played in one of the local bands called Route 66 throughout 1997. The day began his solo career in the late 1990s. He became famous for extensive touring and n-concert use of samplers and effects pedals as his companions. His first album was Australia, which was a self-financed and self-released album released in 2000.
After signing to Epic Records in 2002, Day re-released his debut as well as producing a follow-up, Stop All The World Now (gold certified). It was followed by Sound the Alarm on September 8, 2009, and Lanterns April 16, 2015. Some of his notable singles are "Perfect Time of Day," "Collide," "She Says," "Be There," and many more. The White EP (#1), The White EP (#2), The Blue EP, IRA Live EP, Madrigals EP, Live From... EP, Be There EP, and Ceasefire EP are the EPs by Day released under Epic Records as well as Self-released.
