Horse Jumper of Love hails from Boston, MA, and plays indie rock music. Upon its release, horse Jumper of Love's 2016 self-titled debut album was met with praise and criticism. Stereogum was the first to publish the album's first single, "Ugly Brunette," and Songs We Missed, a program on NPR Music, later played the song.
They played songs from their 2019 album, which was still nameless then, during an Audiotree live session on March 8, 2017, just before the announcement. A 12" vinyl version of Horse Jumper of Love with the extra track "Orange Peeler" was published in April 2017 via Joy Void. Horse Jumper of Love's new album So Divine was announced on April 22, 2019, and will be released on June 28, 2019, through Run for Cover Records.
"Poison," the album's lead song, and its music video, created by Ty Ueda, were debuted by the band on The Fader. In addition, HJOL's July 2019 opening slot for the iconic slowcore band Duster on select dates of their East Coast reunion tour was confirmed in April 2019.
