Paul Cook, the drummer for Sex Pistols, has a daughter named Hollie. Boy George is her godfather, and her mother Jeni was a backup singer for Culture Club. Her mother is from the West Indies, and her father is from England.
In 2006, the reformed Slits released an EP titled Revenge of the Killer Slits, featuring Hollie Cook's contributions. Her 2011 self-titled debut album was produced by Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi and featured George Dekker of the Pioneers and Dennis Bovell; she has also worked with Ian Brown and Jamie T. According to a BBC review, this is "one of the most enjoyable reggae albums of 2011 so far." She then appeared on Later... with Jools Holland and recorded a BBC radio session. The album received a 4.5 rating from De Telegraaf.
2012 she was one of the opening performers for the Stone Roses' reunion performances. In May 2012, she dropped a dub remix of her first album. In 2012, she participated in Q's cover of "You Know I'm No Good" from Amy Winehouse's Back to Black for the album Back to Back to Black. Her second studio album, Twice, was released in May of 2014 with the help of PledgeMusic backers. Alex Paterson, Martin "Youth" Glover, Gaudi, and Jah Wobble appear on their third album, Vessel of Love, which came out in January 2018.
