Grupo Kual Information
Grupo Kual is a Mexican charting tropical-style band. Since 2002, the band has created a distinctive panoramic sound that combines regional Mexican sounds with folk and pop influences from Colombian, Peruvian, Cuban, and Caribbean traditions. Grupo Kual has performed all around the United States and Mexico. Their hits include "El Pájaro Zinzontle", "La Chicharrita del Kafé", "Soy Maraquero", "Rumba Cha Cha Cha", "Las Mujeres No Se Akaban", and "Rumba Kimbumba". Their hits have sold millions of copies.
All the band members of Grupo Kual are from San Juan de Aragon, a town located above Mexico City. They spent a year rehearsing and performing, including appearances at prestigious locations including La Plaza de Toros, El Estadio Azteca, and El Neza.
Grupo Kual’s debut album, Reyes de la Cumbia Sonidera en Mexico, released in 2004, cemented their name for fusing rhumbas, rancheras, and cumbias across Mexico and the United States. A few months later, they capitalized on their success with the live Korazon Enamorado USA.
Recargado was released in 2007, and the tracks "Cumbia San Juanera," "La Pava Congona," and "Delirio de Amor" were released. Grupo Kual went on to tour for another decade, but they didn’t record anything. They took a long break, and all of the members worked on various projects throughout that time. The band rose to more prominence after being featured on the Discos America duet album entitled Oro Sonidero with Telez.
