Googoosh Information
Faegheh Atashin (May 5, 1950) is an Iranian singer and actress who goes by the stage name Googoosh. There is no one better in Iran than her as an entertainer who has been there for over 60 years. Since the beginning of her career, Googoosh has been a huge hit. She is now a cultural icon in Iran and around the world.
Her contributions to Iranian pop music were very important. From the 1950s to the 1970s, she was also in many Persian movies. It was the end of the 1970s, and she was at the top of her game. Iranian women looked a lot like Googoosh in the 1970s. They wore miniskirts and cut their hair short like her.
Since she left Iran in 2000, she has played 27 concerts in Europe and North America that same year. Recently, she worked on a new project with Iranian singer-songwriter Hassan Shamaizadeh, whose album Ejaz came out in 2012. She also served as a judge and academy head for the popular reality show Googoosh Music Academy, which aired on the London-based satellite channel Manoto 1.
She has performed at concerts and venues worldwide since returning to the stage in the summer of 2000. These include the Madison Square Garden in New York, the Toronto Air Canada Center, and the Stockholm Ericsson Globe.
She has made albums with songs in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Persian, and Turkish, among other languages. She has a lot of fans outside of Iran, and European and African media and press have even written about her.
