Glassjaw Information
Glassjaw is an American post-hardcore band that originated from Hempstead, New York. The current lineup of the group includes Daryl Palumbo (lead vocals), Justin Beck (guitars, keyboards, drums, and bass), and Chad Hasty (drums). Palumbo is the group’s frontman. In the early 2000s, the band was a major part of the Long Island music scene. The group has been influential in the underground music’s progression scene in the United Kingdom and the eastern United States. They play post-hardcore and intense live shows. The band has gone through several lineup changes since its formation.
Glassjaw entered the studio in 1999 at Indigo Ranch in Malibu, California. The group recorded its first full-length album under the production of Ross Robinson. The album entitled “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence” was released in 2000 on Roadrunner Records. Glassjaw started recording its second studio album in 2001, again with Robinson. The album “Worship and Tribute” was released on July 9, 2002. Mike Fraser did all the mixing and engineering of the album. In 2005, the group played three shows after coming back from a two-year hiatus. The group also released a B-side EP of songs in October 2005.
Glassjaw has released many extended plays, including Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (1997), El Mark (2005), Our Color Green (The Singles) (2011), and Coloring Book (2011). Their third studio album was released on December 1, 2017, entitled “Material Control.” Some notable singles by the group are “Pretty Lush,” “Cosmopolitan Bloodloss,” “Ape Dos Mil,” and “All Good Junkies Go to Heaven.”
