Fiel A La Vega Information
The Puerto Rican band Fiel a La Vega was founded in 1994 and played Rock en Espaol. The band was named for their origin city. Papo Román, who had been playing drums with them since 1996, departed the group in 2006 to devote more time to his family. The group gained notoriety after publishing their self-titled debut album in 1996. The album was a success, and it spawned several hit singles, including "Salimos de Aqu" and "El Wanab," making the band one of the most well-known in the island's music scene.
After releasing their self-titled debut album, Fiel a la Vega recorded and released three additional studio albums, all issued independently. Despite not being signed to a major label or receiving much exposure, many people still regard the band as "the most important rock band in Puerto Rico" 20 years after the band's formation. In recent years, the band has stepped away from the intense touring and recording schedule to focus on individual endeavors.
Guitarist Laureano has been pursuing a solo career while simultaneously touring the island with fellow guitarist Joel Rodrguez, and singer Auger has been performing both alone and with a musical group called La Banda Acstica Rodante. Pedro and Jorge Arraiza are brothers who maintain separate careers as a professor and a chef, respectively, while simultaneously performing with the acoustic cover band Good Acoustics and leading their band, Los Arraiza Voladores.
