Fargo Force Information
In junior ice hockey, the Fargo Force plays at the highest level. They are part of the USHL's Western Conference. The Force was named USHL Organization of the Year in 2008–09 and 2012–2013, and they won a league championship in 2018. A local businessman, Ace Brandt was planning to use Fargo's acquisition of a USHL franchise as a major draw for the newly built Urban Plains Center when it was granted the franchise in early 2007.
The original staff included Dean Blais, who had previously coached the North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey team. Blais also served as general manager. Cary Eades, a former player and assistant coach for the University of North Dakota, succeeded Marks after the 2014–15 season. Eades had previously guided the Sioux Falls Stampede to the Clark Cup Championship in the previous season. After a long title drought, Fargo finally broke through in 2018, defeating the Youngstown Phantoms in the Clark Cup Finals.
Eades resigned as head coach after the 2018–19 season but kept his title of general manager. Pierre-Paul Lamoureux was promoted from the position of associate coach. After the 2020–21 season, Lamoureux departed, and Scott Langer, who had played for the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League for the past five years, took over. Cancer took the life of owner Ace Brandt on October 16, 2021.
