Evanescence Information
Evanescence is a rock band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1994 by vocalist and keyboardist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. Fallen, Evanescence's first studio album was released on Wind-up Records in 2003. The band had previously issued a demo CD and indie EPs in the late '90s. Singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" helped propel "Fallen" to four million US album sales by January 2004.
In 2004, the band released Anywhere but Home, a live CD and concert DVD that sold over one million copies globally. Evanescence began as a duet but went through many lineup shifts before becoming a band in 2009. Lee has been a member of the band since 2006, Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt have been there since 2007, and Emma Anzai has been playing bass since 2022.
From February to April 2023, Evanescence accompanied Muse on their North American tour. The band made its festival debut in May at both the Sick New World in Las Vegas and the Welcome to Rockville in Florida. From October 7th to the 28th, they went on a Latin American tour that included Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico. In November, Evanescence received the 2023 Rock Sound Hall of Fame Award.
