Einstuerzende Neubauten Information
Einsturzende Neubauten is a German experimental music band that was formed in 1980 in West Berlin. The group consists of founder members, Blixa Bargeld (keyboard, guitar, lead vocals), long-time contributor Alexander Hacke (vocals, bass), N.U. Unruh (percussion, vocals, custom-made instruments), Rudolf Moser (percussion, vocals, custom-built instruments), and Jochen Arbeit (vocals, guitar).
Einsturzende Neubauten made their first appearance on April first, 1980, in West Berlin at the Moon Club. In 1981, the group released its first LP “Kollaps” which was a mixture of rough industrial noises and punk tunes. In 1983, the group recorded its second album called “Zeichnungen des Patienten.” The title of this album came from a book of 1974 that was written by Leo Navratil. The book describes the drawings of Oswald Tschirtner.
Einsturzende Neubauten played a show in 1984 in which they had invited the following guests; Stevo Pearce, Genesis P-Orridge, Frank Tovey, and a few others. The show entitled “The Concerto for Voices and Machinery.” In 1985, the band released their next album called “Halber Mensch.”
In May 1992, Einstuerzende Neubauten performed at The Academy of Fine Arts. They twisted their complete music style in their next album named “Tabula Rasa,” which was released in 1993. The music contained more electronic sounds and became softer.
In 1996, the band released another album called Ende Neu (Ending New). The song from the album “Stella Maris” went highly popular, among others. On March 27 to May 23, 2000, Einsturzende Neubauten made a “20th-anniversary tour” on the occasion of the band’s 20th anniversary. The group celebrated heavenly by doing a tour.
