Diljit Dosanjh Information
Diljit Dosanjh (January 6, 1984) is an Indian singer, songwriter, actor, film director, and TV figure born in Punjab, India. He started with Punjabi music and has since worked in Punjabi and Hindi films. In 2020, Dosanjh broke into the Social 50 chart on Billboard.
He appears on many music charts, including the Albums Chart in Canada, the Official Charts Company Asian Chart in the UK, and the Hot Singles Chart in New Zealand. His most successful films include Jatt & Juliet 2, Punjab 1984, Honsla Rakh, Sajjan Singh Rangroot, and Punjab.
'Smile'(2005), 'Chocolate' (2008), and 'The Next Level' (2009), co-written with Yo Yo Honey Singh, brought Dosanjh Kalan of Jalandhar, Punjab, fame. He began performing in 2002. He then appeared in his first Punjabi film, 2011's The Lion of Punjab, after which he continued acting.
Udta Punjab, a 2016 criminal thriller that marked his Bollywood debut, won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut and nominated him for Best Supporting Actor. After that, in 2019, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Filmfare Awards for Good Newwz for the second time. He has received the most PTC Awards for Best Actor as of 2020.
In 2020, Dosanjh's eleventh studio album, G.O.A.T., debuted on Billboard's Social 50 list. The Billboard Canadian Albums Chart featured this album and his subsequent one, MoonChild Era. When he performed at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, he made history as the first Punjabi musician to do so.
