Desert Hearts Festival Information
Desert Hearts is an American festival consisting of a 200-persons’ renegade gathering founded in November 2012. It was dreamt up by the founding quintet, including Kristoff McKay, Marbs, Porkchop, Lee Reynolds, and Mikey Lion. The crew survived a set of extreme weather conditions and unfortunate circumstances, but that first event sparked a fire. The group began as a nomadic gathering of friends that later became the darling of the West Coast house and techno scene. Every edition of the festival has been sold out since.
Desert Hearts decided to keep their events intimate, ensuring that the positive energy, radical self-expression, and the love of that adventure remain at its beating heart. The event has attracted some of the world’s reputable bookings such as M.A.N.D.Y, Mark Henning, Olivier Giacomotto, Mark Houle, Claude VonStroke, DJ T, Rodriguez Jr., Money Safari, DJ Harvey, and Tiefschwarz.
In 2014, Desert Hearts launched Desert Hearts Records, a free record label, embodying the musical sensibility of the group’s movement. The record label also provided a platform to foster established and emerging talent from all around the world. It was entirely curated by Mikey Lion, with Marbs handling the label’s artwork. Some of the label’s past releases included RYBO, Kevin Anderson, Fritz Carlton, Dance Spirit, TACHES, jozif, The Glitz, Latmun, and Andreas Henneberg.
