Desert Hearts is a unique tribute paid to house, techno, and love. It was founded in 2012 as a party group. It all started as an intimate renegade gathering in the Mojave Desert, which now has a unique movement celebrating life, love, and music. The group plays several Desert Hearts Festivals year-round. The party group has been defined as “The West Coast’s Fastest Growing Party Squad” by Thump Magazine.
The central idea behind the inception of Desert Heart is to spread the love of music and move towards a better life. The group began as a 200-person renegade gathering in November 2012. It was dreamt up by the DH’s founding quintet of Lee Reynolds, Porkchop, Mikey Lion, Marbs, and Kristoff McKay. The crew barely survived the harsh weather of the Mojave, but their first-party ended up being a miracle.
Desert Hearts Records is a totally-free record label the group launched in 2014. Mikey Lion thoroughly curated it along with Marbs dealing with the artwork for the entire label. Some of the label’s notable past releases include Andreas Henneberg, Kevin Anderson, RYBO, TÅCHES, Dance Spirit, Latmun, The Glitz, and Fritz Carlton.
