Derek Edwards Information
Originally from Timmins, Ontario, Derek Edwards (born in 1958) is a well-known Canadian actor and stand-up comedian. He was educated at Timmins High and Vocational School. He triumphed in the Vail National Comedy Invitational in 1995. To date, he is the only Canadian to take home this honor. In 2004, he was honored with the Canadian Comedy Award for best male stand-up. He was a part of the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival for several years.
Rick Mercer called him "the funniest man in Canada; everybody knows it," Mitch Fatel compared him to Kramer from Seinfeld, calling him "an eccentric, hysterically funny, brilliant artist." A deep, sardonic tone characterizes Edwards, who recently relocated to Toronto, Canada.
