Deer Valley Music Festival Information
The Utah Symphony and Utah Opera perform at the Deer Valley Music Festival every summer. Park City, Utah, is held annually in July and August at the Deer Valley Resort, St. Mary's Church, Temple Har Shalom, and salon performances in local residences. Chamber music, symphonic music, opera, and even some popular music will all be presented at the event by the Utah Symphony and special guests.
Since its inception in 2003, the event has been led by Keith Lockhart, music director of the Utah Symphony, and Anne Ewers, president and chief executive officer of the Utah Symphony and Opera. In 2012, Earth, Wind, and Fire and Pink Martini headlined the event. Opening the Festival was James Delisco, E!'s The Entertainer champion, in a Michael Jackson tribute. The Utah Symphony performed in Kansas on Saturday night, and there were also concerts of Broadway Rocks! (featuring Morgan James, LaKisha Jones, Doug LaBrecque, and Rob Evan), Earth, Wind & Fire, and Pink Martini.
Gladys Knight, Elvis Costello, LeAnn Rimes, Jewel, Tony Bennett, Ben Folds, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Pink Martini, Randy Travis, Frederica von Stade, Idina Menzel, Kansas, and Earth, Wind, and Fire are just some of the well-known acts who have performed with the Utah Symphony at the festival.
