December Avenue is from Manila, Philippines, a five-piece alternative rock/indie pop band whose songs have become popular online. Among all-time OPM streaming charts, the band ranks high. Zel Bautista (vocals and acoustic guitar), Jem Manuel (lead guitar), Don Gregorio (bass guitar), and Jet Danao (drums and percussion) make up the band's consistent lineup since they formed in 2007.
These original members have guided the band's music and progress since its beginnings. Gelo Cruz joined the band in 2016, expanding its sound with his keyboard abilities and backup vocals. The combination of their sincere lyrics, musical songs, and energetic performances continues to attract audiences. Together, they make a coherent unit that continues to enchant audiences.
In 2007, Bautista, Manuel, Gregorio, and Danao began their journey at the University of Santo Tomas, where they were all graduates. Cruz, a 2016 addition, is a De La Salle-College of St. Benilde graduate. Bautista is the band's principal composer. Since 2016, the band has been releasing songs in Tagalog despite initially being recognized for their mostly English tunes.
