David Foster Information
David Foster is a Canadian arranger, composer, musician, music executive, and record producer. He was born in Victoria, British Columbia. After being found by Eirik Wangberg, Foster joined the piano lineup of the pop band Skylark. In 1973, the song "Wildflower" reached the top ten. He stayed in LA when the band split up and, along with Jay Graydon, established the band Airplay. Foster contributed to George Harrison's Extra Texture album in 1975.
A year later, on Harrison's Thirty-Three and 1/3 album, he played the Fender Rhodes and Clavinet. A Private Evening with David Foster was broadcast on PBS in 2019. Katharine McPhee, a tenor named Fernando Varela, Pia Toscano, Loren Allred, and Shelea are all part of the show, along with Shelea. Barry Avrich produced and directed the 2019 biographical documentary David Foster: Off the Record. The world premiere was held in September 2019 at TIFF.
In archival videos and interviews, singers such as Barbra Streisand, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion appear. Foster and McPhee performed as "Banana Split" on season six of The Masked Singer in 2021. They lost against Jewel in the Group B Finals and were hence eliminated.
