Dandy Warhols Information
The Dandy Warhols is an alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Portland, Oregon, and founded by guitarist and singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor along with guitarist Peter Holmstrom. The current lineup of the group includes Peter Holmstrom (guitar, backing vocals, bass guitar, and keyboards), Zia McCabe (keyboard bass, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, and backing vocals), Courtney Taylor-Taylor (backing and lead vocals, percussion, keyboards, and guitar), and Brent DeBoer (bass guitar, guitar, drums, backing, and lead vocals).
The Dandy Warhols began its musical career by performing in bars throughout Portland. The band became known for its nudity-filled live shows. The group has worked with a few record labels such as Beat the World, The End, Capitol, Dine Alone, and Tim/Kerr. The Dandy Warhols gained actual recognition after the group signed to Capitol Records, and it led the band to release its debut album in 1997 entitled “The Dandy Warhols Come Down.”
The Dandy Warhols released the song “Bohemian Like You,” which was the breakthrough in terms of fame for the band. The group was also the subject of the documentary film, “Dig!” in 2004. The group members have also released a collaborative album to benefit conservation projects; this was released in 2008 and entitled “Breath Easy.”
The Dandy Warhols released several notable albums throughout their career including Dandy Rule OK (1995), Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia (2000), Odditorium or Warlords of Mars (2005), .. Earth to the Dandy Warhols.. (2008), The Dandy Warhols Are Sound (2009), and Why You So Crazy (2019).
