Cunninlynguists Information
CunninLynguists is an American hip-hop band. The group's current lineup consists of Kno, Deacon the Villain, and Natti. After its release in October 2001, Pitchfork Media praised the group's debut studio album, Will Rap for Food, calling it "a great, accessible debut, replete with creative lyrics and impressively consistent sound."
The independent album SouthernUnderground by the band was published in April 2003 on Freshchest Records and featured a guest appearance by Mr. SOS. The album was produced by Domingo and RJD2 but largely by Kno and featured appearances by Masta Ace, Supastition, and others. In 2004, the band signed a distribution deal with Caroline Distribution; their 2004 project, SouthernUnderground, was the first to be reissued as part of the arrangement, and 2005's Will Rap For Food followed suit.
From 2003 to 2005, they crisscrossed North America on tour, sharing bills with such luminaries as Nappy Roots and Cee-Lo Green of Goodie Mob, as well as People Under the Stairs, Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan, and Brand Nubian. The band released Sloppy Seconds Volume One in 2003, while Sloppy Seconds Volume 2 came out in 2005.
