Cruel World Festival Information
The Rose Bowl's Brookside in Pasadena, California, annually hosts the Cruel World Festival. Goldenvoice, an affiliate of AEG Presents, established it in 2020 and is in charge of its organization. Rock music from the new wave, post-punk, gothic, and alternative scenes is the main attraction at this festival. Multiple stages in the park feature live music all day long.
Notable and long-running musicians, as well as reunited groups, perform at the Cruel World Festival. More than 25 performers, including Morrissey, Bauhaus, and Blondie, were featured in the first edition on May 14 and 15, 2022. Twenty more acts, including Siouxsie and Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, the Human League, Love and Rockets, and Echo & the Bunnymen, were performed in the second event, which was held on May 20, 2023.
Lightning strikes in the area caused the 2023 edition to stop early that night. That night's headline performance by Siouxsie, including Iggy Pop and Gary Numan, was rescheduled for the next day. On May 11, 2024, Duran Duran will play as the featured act at the event.
