Colin James Information
Colin James (August 17, 1964) is a Canadian blues and rock singer and songwriter. James was born in the Canadian city of Regina. In 1984, he started opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan in Regina. When the intended opening act failed to appear, he had only a few hours to cobble together a set of blues songs with members of the Regina band "Flying Colours."
In the late 1990s, James' worldwide reputation decreased slightly, although he continued to create albums in rock, blues, and acoustic styles. During Queen Elizabeth II's visit to his native province of Saskatchewan in 2005, he performed a command performance.
James' album Limelight was certified gold in Canada for sales in 2007. Colin James & The Little Big Band 3 won three Toronto Blues Society Maple Blues Awards in January 2008: "Entertainer of the Year," "Electric Act of the Year," and "Recording of the Year."
Following its release, James' 2016 album Blue Highways lasted ten weeks at the top of the Roots Music Report's Blues Chart and was included in Living Blues magazine's Top 50 albums of the year. Miles To Go, the follow-up, was published in September 2018 to similar acclaim, debuting in the top 10 blues charts in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
