Cold War Kids Information
Cold War Kids is an American rock band from Long Beach, California. In addition to Nathan Willett on vocals, piano, and guitar, the band also features bass guitarist Matt Maust, guitarist David Quon, keyboardist Matthew Schwartz, guitarist Joe Plummer, and percussionist Joe Plummer.
Jonnie Russell (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards, percussion), Dann Gallucci (guitar, keyboards, percussion), and Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion) are all former members of the band.
Originally hailing from Fullerton, California, the Cold War Kids made their mark on the indie scene in 2004. Their first albums, released under Monarchy Music, set the stage for their 2006 big label debut, Robbers & Cowards, which was met with acclaim from both critics and fans. This was a significant milestone for the band, marking their transition to a wider audience after signing with Downtown/V2.
Between Loyalty to Loyalty (2008) and Mine Is Yours (2011), the band experimented with new musical styles and lyrical themes, garnering positive and negative reviews. On November 1, 2019, the band released their seventh studio album, New Age Norms 1.
As a testament to their enduring popularity, Cold War Kids were chosen as the opening act for Tears for Fears' 2023 summer tour, in support of the band's album The Tipping Point. This album, released on November 3, marks the band's eleventh studio release. And the excitement doesn't end there-the band is already gearing up for their next adventure, planning a tour for 2024.
