Colbie Caillat (May 28, 1985) is an American singer and songwriter born in Malibu, California. Caillat began taking piano lessons at nine, but she was uninspired until she watched Lauryn Hill's Sister Act 2 performance when she was eleven. After deciding to sing professionally, she enrolled in voice classes and made her theatrical debut in sixth grade.
Creative Artists Agency signed Caillat on July 28, 2021. With country artist Brett Young, Caillat released a rendition of "White Christmas" in September 2021. Caillat performed her entire album Coco Live on the Coco Live 15th Anniversary Tour, which she began in early 2022. Throughout the summer and into the fall, the tour persisted. Caillat covered the Goo Goo Dolls' 1998 hit "Iris" and released it on October 21, 2022. An advertisement for Kroger featured the cover.
As stated on her official website, Caillat reportedly composed new music in Nashville. On April 21, 2023, her latest single, "Worth It," was released. With the release of "Pretend," the project's second single, she announced the October 6 release of her new album Along the Way. The Way is her debut country album as a solo artist. Released in July 2023, "Wide Open" was the third single from the album.
