Chuy Lizarraga Information
Chuy Lizárraga is a singer from Sinaloa, Mexico, who released his first solo album in 2005 and had his first international big hit with "La Peinada (La Peinadita)" a half-decade later. He began his career in a few banda groups, including Banda Aramburos, La Original Banda El Limón de Salvador Lizárraga, and Banda San José de Mesillas, all of which issued records with him as a vocalist, on November 9, 1976, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
The two Banda San José de Mesillas albums Con Alma de Acero and Tu Destino, released in 2002 on EMI, are the most renowned of Lizárraga’s early recordings. In 2004, he began a solo career and formed Chuy Lizárraga y Su Banda Tierra Sinaloense, his own banda group. Lizárraga acquired a recording contract with the Univision Music Group’s Disa Records and released Postrado a Tus Pies (2008) after two albums on the Int'l Latin America label, Quédate Conmigo (2005) and Como Burro sans Mecate (2006). Lizárraga’s partnership with Disa Records, the world’s second-largest regional Mexican music label, considerably expanded his fan base and helped him achieve mainstream recognition.
The single entitled “La Peinada (La Peinadita)” steadily became an international smash by 2010, which means it took nearly a year for the single to become a successful hit. It also entered the Top Ten of the Billboard Latin Regional Mexican Airplay chart and the Top 20 of the all-around Latin Songs chart.
