Chelsea Emily Cutler (February 11, 1997) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer born in Westport, Connecticut. January 2020 saw How to Be Human, her first studio album, released via Republic Records. The Billboard 200 list saw it peaking at number 23. In 2017, Cutler's "Your Shirt" and other tracks earned a lot of streams and led to collaborations with other artists. After signing with Ultra Records at the end of 2017, she dropped her debut extended play (EP), Snow In October.
Cutler dropped two solo mixtapes, "Sleeping with Roses" and "Sleeping with Roses II," after the 2018 Quinn XCII tour. She also went on two sold-out headlining tours around the country, one for each mixtape. Soon after signing with Republic Records in March 2019, she and labelmate and friend Jeremy Zucker produced an EP called Brent. The Today Show performance of "You Were Good to Me" is featured on the EP.
Both songs were taken from her first studio album, How To Be Human, published by Republic Records on January 17, 2020. "Sad Tonight" was also included as a lead single from the album, and Late Night With Seth Meyers featured her performance of the lead song "Sad Tonight" on January 23, 2020. It peaked at No. 32 in March 2020 and was Cutler's first appearance on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart. She and Quinn XCII were featured on Louis the Child's "Little Things" in April 2020.
