Chadwick Stokes Information
Chadwick Stokes (February 26, 1976) is an American human rights activist and musician. His full name is Chadwick Stokes Urmston. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Stokes is serving as the frontman State Radio and Dispatch (Boston area bands) currently and also released his solo music by his name.
During the college days of Stokes, he met a local fieldworker known as Elias. He wrote a song “Elias” for Dispatch, which is an American roots/indie band, for their upcoming album “Silent Steeples” in 1996. The song became one of the well-known hit songs for the band. Stokes even started a nonprofit organization by the name Elias Fund in 2005.
Stokes and his friend Pete Heimbold formed a band called “Hermit Thrush.” Both of them met while they were attending Middlebury College in 1995. Later, along with Brad Corrigan and Heimbold, Stokes formed another band called “One Fell Swoop” and eventually recognized as Dispatch. Initially, the band promoted their music and tours using Napster.
Stokes has released several albums, such as studio albums, throughout his career, including Simmerkane II - Nettwerk Record in 2011, Simmerkane I, and the Fall River Sybils - Ruff Shod Records in 2012, The Horse Comanche - Ruff Shod Records in 2015, and a few more.
Stokes’ live albums and EPs include Live At the Brattle Theatre (2009), Live At The Armory (2011), and The Horse Comanche B Sides (The Story of Bobby and Maeve) EP in 2015.
