Breathe Carolina Information
Breathe Carolina is an American electronic music duo. The current lineup consists of David Schmitt and Tommy Cooperman. Growing up in Colorado, Kyle Even (born September 21, 1985) and David Schmitt (born March 26, 1988) were local music scene members. After his older stepbrother turned him on to alternative rock, he Even gravitated to singing in bands. Even was a member of the band Rivendale before joining Breathe Carolina.
Even Schmitt began Breathe Carolina in 2007 as a hobby when they began producing songs with GarageBand. They established a Myspace presence, where their music was heard by over 10,000 people in 2008 and 30,000,000 in 2009. Schmitt had a dream in the ninth school about soothing a lady named Carolina, which is where the name Breathe Carolina originated from. And soon after that, Even gave up his photography career to go on the road with the band full-time. On November 26, 2007, they released their first EP, Gossip, exclusively on iTunes. It was independently released and is no longer for sale.
Before the release of their debut album, Breathe Carolina signed with Rise Records. Songs like "The Introduction," "No Vacancy," "Show Me Yours," "Classified," "That's Classy," and "You Wish" are new additions to the album that were not included on Gossip. Only "Don't Forget: Lock The Door" from the Gossip EP was left off the album proper. Touring in support of the album began shortly after its September 16, 2008, release.
