Bloodkin Information
Eric Carter, the co-founder of Bloodkin, provides a vision statement for the company in 2021 and beyond. When he was seven, he met Danny Hutchens, and by the time he was sixteen, he and Hutchens were working together as songwriters. They worked as a unit, as partners in crime. From then on, they devoted themselves mostly to songwriting, performing, recording, and the occasional act of fuckup, with the expectation that a band would eventually develop to aid them in their endeavors. By the summer of 1986, they had ultimately uprooted their lives from West Virginia and settled in Athens, Georgia; a series of misfortunes gave birth to Bloodkin.
Years of experience and guidance from John Bell and their Widespread Panic pals helped them prepare for recording their debut album with famed producer Johnny Sandlin in Alabama. Thus, in 1994, the world was introduced to Good Luck Charm, and the band began their never-ending cycle of recording and performing live gigs wherever and whenever they could.
