Bacilos Information
The musical group Bacilos consists of three members and is based in Miami, Florida. Bacilos is a Latin pop group that has had numerous hits on the Billboard Latin charts. Formed in the year 1995, the band is a trio of Columbian Singer Jorge, Jose Javier, a Percussionist from Puerto Rico, and Andre Lopes, a bassist from Brazil. Bacilos released their first independent album in the year 1999 called 'Madera.' Soon after, the musical band signed a contract with the music label Warner Music in 2000. Bacilos' self-titled album achieved gold status in Columbia and was also nominated for two Latin Grammy awards in the year 2001.
In 2003 the band Bacilos won the Grammy Award for 'Caraluna' for the Best Latin Pop Album and the band was also nominated for the Grammys in 2005 for the same title for the album 'Sin Verguenza'. Bacilos has also won three Latin Grammy Awards, two in 2003 and one in 2005. The band's first single called 'Pasos de Gigante' reached number 2 in Chile and number 1 in Argentina. The same song also made it into the top 10 for the Billboard Latin singles charts in 2004. Bacilos performed their last show as a whole at the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar on February 22, 2007, in Chile after announcing their break up on December 15, 2006. As of 2017 Bacilos decided for a reunion and released 'Por Hacerme el Bueno' in 2018.
