James Edward Johnson III (June 6, 2000) is an American rapper and songwriter. He is professionally known by his stage name, BabyTron. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan. At 17, BabyTron and his buddies TrDee and StanWill formed the rap group ShittyBoyz, which they used to pursue music professionally. BabyTron would also regularly release solo material via digital music services, such as songs and mixtapes. His 2019 solo effort, "Jesus Shuttlesworth," went viral in the hip-hop scene, inspiring numerous memes.
Bin Reaper, his 2019 mixtape, featured the song. Michigan Boy Boat, a 2021 album by Lil Yachty, would include him. In October of 2021, BabyTron dropped the mixtape Bin Reaper 2, featuring appearances from Lil Yachty, Miles Bridges (under the RTB MB), and ShittyBoyz. On March 4, 2022, Empire and The Hip Hop Lab published BabyTron's album Megatron. Released on May 17, the song "Emperor of the Universe" was accompanied by a music video directed by Cole Bennett. On June 14, 2022, he was included in the XXL 2022 Freshman Class.
The two artists dropped their collaborative single "Blah Blah Blah" on August 2. On August 5, 2022, ShittyBoyz dropped their second mixtape, titled Trifecta 2. BabyTron released the news of his upcoming album, Bin Reaper 3, on September 19. BabyTron unveiled his upcoming third studio album, Bin Reaper 3: New Testament, on January 5, 2023. Lil Yachty, Babyface Ray, and Cordae all appear on the album.
