Ronald Ray Bryant (October 18, 1969) is an American actor, songwriter, rapper, and singer from Vallejo, California. Better known by his stage name, Baby Bash, he plays R&B and hip-hop. Bryant was exposed to a variety of musical genres with the help of his father and uncle. He attended a junior college in California and wanted to be a professional basketball player at the time. Unfortunately, an ankle injury prevented him from pursuing this career path.
Bryant started his official music career as a part of the Potna Deuce group in his hometown. He later went to Houston (1998) and met a fellow rapper named South Park Mexican. Under his former name “Baby Beesh,” he was part of different rap groups such a Latino Velvet and Potna Deuce. Soon Bryant went solo and released his debut album entitled Savage Dreams. The album was released in 2001 on the independent label Dope House Records, featuring Frost, Jay Tee, Mr. Kee, South Park Mexican, Don Cisco, and Merciless.
His first album was followed by another entitled “On the Cool” on June 11, 2002. Bryant continued releasing notable studio albums, including Tha Smokin’ Nephew (2003), Super Saucy (2005), Cyclone (2007), Bashtown (2011), Ronnie Rey All Day (2014), and Don’t Panic, It’s Organic (2016). A few of his well-praised collaboration albums are Welcome to Da Tilt with Potna Deuce (1994), Velvet City with Latino Velvet (2000), Velvetism with Jay Tee (2002), Playamade Mexicanz with Lucky Luciano (2012), Sangria with Frankie J (2017), and many more. Bryant also appeared in the film Pain (2010).
