Arash Information
Arash Labbaf (April 23, 1977) is an Iranian-Swedish producer, singer, and entertainer. He was born in Tehran, Iran. His family's home was close to Mellat Park. He went to Sweden with his family when he was ten years old and has never left. His parents are originally from the Iranian cities of Shiraz and Isfahan, he said in an interview with BBC Persian Television.
According to Arash Labbaf, he sings in his home language because he has a "deep attachment to Iran and Persian culture." After finishing college, Warner Music Sweden published his debut album, Arash, in June 2005. His songs "Boro Boro" (which translates to "Go Away") and "Temptation" (which features Rebecca) were top 10 hits throughout Europe.
Each of their videos was featured on over twenty MTV stations worldwide. Early in 2009, it was announced that Arash's "Always" would represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest that year. In the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, Aysel Teymurzadeh and Arash sang the song as a duet. In 2009, the song made it to the final round of the Eurovision Song Contest, where it ultimately placed third.
