Anthony Hamilton Information
Anthony Cornelius Hamilton (January 28, 1971) is a U.S.-based musician born in Charlotte, North Carolina. His second studio album, Comin' from Where I'm From (2003), was released before he joined Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings. He is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Both the album's lead single, "The Same Thing," and its follow-up, "Charlene," were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The Point of It All (2008) and Ain't Nobody Worryin' (2005), his third and fourth albums, were certified gold by the RIAA and continued to be successful.
His 2011 album Back to Love and 2016 album What I'm Feelin' were both released by RCA Records.
In addition to his 12 nominations, he won a Grammy for his work on the soundtrack album of the 2012 film Django Unchained, where he co-wrote and performed the song "Freedom" with Elayna Boynton.
Hamilton contributed vocals to the 2017 virtual band Gorillaz's single "Carnival" from Humanz, their 5th studio album. In a joint venture with BMG, Hamilton's new label, My Music Box, released the Rick James-featured track "Back Together" on May 15, 2020.
