Angus and Julia Stone are an Australian folk and indie pop duo established in 2006 as brother and sister. In early 2006, the brothers decided to work together on their musical projects. They write separately and collaborate on structure and harmonies. After nine nominations, they won Album of the Year, Best Adult Alternative Album, Best Cover Art and Producer for Down the Way, and Single of the Year for "Big Jet Plane."
While opening for the American band Red Hot Chili Peppers in Melbourne in early 2023, Post Malone—a superstar in his own right—invited Angus Stone to join him onstage. An encore of "Big Jet Plane" featuring Malone and Stone followed. On Triple J's Like A Version in April 2024, both covered Lewis Capaldi's smash tune "Someone You Loved." Their song "Cape Forestier" was also played live.
Cape Forestier, the duo's fifth studio album, was confirmed for release in May of 2024 in February of that year. "The Wedding Song" is the album's lead single, and the pair also released it on February 9. They dropped the album's lead single, "Cape Forestier," on March 8. The release date of Cape Forestier was May 10, 2024.
