Trail of Dead is an American alternative rock band which was formed in 1994, originated from Austin, Texas. The group deals in alternative rock, post-hardcore, and art rock genres. The current chief members of the band include Conrad Keely (formerly Conrad Sobsamai) and Jason Reece. These two members alternate between guitar, drumming, and lead vocals during live shows and recordings. The other band members are Autry Fulbright II and Jamie Miller.
Trail of Dead is famous for its wild, energetic concerts. According to the official website of the group, their name is taken from an ancient Mayan ritual chant. This chant exhibits a striking similarity to an ancient Egyptian chant. "Novena Without Faith" was the first song released by Trail of Dead in 1995. It was released on a cassette-only compilation titled Austin Live Houses and was followed by another self-titled four-song cassette.
