Amanda Fish is an American blues singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Amanda Fish had a musical influence from her mother, who was an instructor in the local church choir. Initially, she heard recordings of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bonnie Raitt, and later on, she shifted towards the music by legendary Rolling Stones and Tom Petty.
Fish, along with her sister, Samantha Fish, were drawn towards blues music during their teenage years. Until 2012, Fish did not begin performing and writing music. In 2014, she formed her band, and the next year she released her debut album entitled "Down in the Dirt" on VizzTone Records. For that album, Fish was honored with the Sean Costello Rising Star Award from Blues Blast Magazine. For the same album, she had a lineup of members consisting of herself (vocals and guitar), Sean McDonnell (vocals and guitar), Cole Dillingham (vocals, guitar, and bass), and Kristopher Schenbelen (drums). Fish herself wrote all of the material for the album, and four of the songs were co-written with McDonnell.
Amanda Fish released her second and latest album entitled "Free" in 2018. The album reached number 6 in the Billboard Blues Albums Chart and was named the "Best Emerging Artist Album" at the 40th Blues Music Award.
