Alicia Villarreal (August 31, 1971) is a Mexican singer. The local TV show Pipo was the first place Villarreal sang Mundo De Juguetes, a song her parents had taken her to. A church benefit was her debut professional performance. With her as the main singer, Grupo Límite began traveling with the more renowned Grupo Bronco in 1995. "Acariciame," "Te Aprovechas," and "Solo Contigo" were some of their songs. In total, Grupo Limite put out six albums, one of which was a live CD captured in Mexico City.
One of Villarreal's most popular songs, "Te Quedo Grande la Yegua," is from her 2001 ranchera solo album, Soy Lo Prohibido. After the album's success, Villarreal said she was confused about her career's direction because she had to switch genres. She revealed she was back in the studio working on her fourth solo album after an almost four-year absence.
Listen to "Caso Perdido," the lead song from the album La Jefa, released on June 23, 2009. In its debut week, the album peaked at no. 4 on Billboard's Latin Albums chart and #1 on Regional Mexican Albums. When La Jefa came out, critics were divided. After nearly eight years of child-rearing, Villarreal returned on September 8, 2017, and her fifth studio album, La Villarreal.
