Alexander Zonjic Information
Canadian flute and recording musician Alexander Zonjic was born on April 30, 1951. He plays classical and light jazz. His Serbian father emigrated from war-torn Yugoslavia before Tito's communists took power, and his Greek mother is from that country.
He received his early education in Windsor, earning a degree from the University of Windsor in 1975. He continued his studies with the illustrious first flute of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Ervin Monroe.
Zonjic was a regular performer at clubs in the Detroit region in the 1980s, including Baker's Keyboard Lounge, Alexanders, and Murdock's. He continued to live in Windsor with his wife Lorraine and son Alex Jr. He resides in Detroit, Michigan.
