Alaclair Ensemble Information
Alaclair Ensemble is a Canadian hip-hop musical collective that has been active since 2010. The current members of the group consisting of Ogden “Robert Nelson” Ridjanovic (rapper), Olivier “Maybe Watson” Normandin-Guenette (rapper), KenLo Craqnuques (producer & rapper), Claude Begin (musician, singer, rapper, and producer), Eman (rapper), and Vlooper (producer). They have worked with many record labels such as Google Records and Disques 7ieme Ciel.
Alaclair Ensemble’s concept is based around an alternate history in which the Patriots won the Lower Canada Rebellion. The music style of the group is influenced by traditional Quebecois folk music and also contemporary electronic and hip-hop music. The band was formed in Quebec City, and, in 2010, the group released its debut album on the Bandcamp. The band released another album entitled “Les Negres blancs; d’Amerique du Noir.” After this album, the Alaclair Ensemble moved forward and released another album entitled “Toute est impossible.”
The band got signed to Disques 7ieme Ciel in the year 2016 and released its first album on the label entitled “Les Freres Cueilleurs.” Other notable albums that the band has released throughout its career include Le Sens des Paroles (2018), America, Vol. 2 (2019), and the most recent album Capitaine Canada (2020).
