Acappellooza Information
The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) hosts an overnight cappella music summer camp called "Acappellooza Summer" for students in classes 9–12. Over four days, students will be guided in song by some of the biggest names in a cappella music, including the AMBASSADORS OF HARMONY, who have won four international championships, and DR. JIM HENRY and DEBBIE CLEVELAND, who have won two gold medals each.
The students will receive the sheet music and practice recordings in advance to get together and hone their skills before Friday night's special cappella performance. Men's, women's, and a combined chorus of "Acappellooza Summer" participants will perform at the performance. They will perform alongside other acts, such as Evening Glow and Newfangled Four (both BHS International Finalists for 2019). In addition to the rigorous rehearsal schedule, there will be several chances for relaxation and entertainment, including lectures, guest appearances, tag singing, a movie night, and more.
