Dan "Soupy" Campbell, lead singer of The Wonder Years, has a side project called Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. The official Facebook page for the initiative calls it "a character study through music." Campbell is pretending to be Aaron West to get ahead. The full-length We Don't Have Each Other (issued in July 2014) and the EP Bittersweet (released May 20, 2016) have been made available to the public. Between albums, the band would occasionally drop singles. On May 10, 2019, their second album, Routine Maintenance, was officially released to the public.
An EP titled Bittersweet was planned for a May 20 release on March 25. Cover art and a list of songs from the EP were made public, and "'67, Cherry Red" was made accessible to listen to online. The EP comes in three distinct colored vinyl pressings: green (for "Green Like the G Train, Green Like Sea Foam"), blue ("Goodbye, Carolina Blues"), and red ("'67, Cherry Red'").
The non-album single "Orchard Park" came out on October 5, 2017. In the music video, Aaron and his mom are in the car on their way to Orchard Park to scatter their dad's ashes. Routine Maintenance, the second long player from the project, was revealed on March 18, 2019, with a tentative release date of May 10, 2019.
