Ross-Ade Stadium is located at Purdue University, 850 Steven Beering Drive, West Lafayette, Indiana. It serves home to the Purdue Boilermakers football team. The stadium opened its gates to the general public on November 22, 1924, with a cost of $237,5000. It has a seating capacity of approximately 57,236 people. The venue is owned and operated by Purdue University. Osborn Engineering Company designed the architecture of the site. Over the years, the stadium has been expanded and renovated in three different phases. The renovation added a new press box, a stadium club, outdoor and indoor club seats, suites, bench seating, restrooms, and concessions. The other two phases include a 9,500-seat upper deck on the north and a new 8,000-seat upper deck on the east side. The stadium is named after George Ade and David Ross, who provided most of the funds in its construction.
On November 22, 1980, the most massive crowd of 71,629 people was there to watch a game between Purdue Boilermakers and Indiana. Through the 2017 season, Purdue Boilermakers boasts a record of 282-186-13 at the stadium, a .600 winning percentage. A permanent lighting system was installed at the stadium in 2017. This allowed the Purdue Boilermakers to play some historic and exciting night games against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Missouri Tigers, and Northwestern Wildcats.
