McCoy Stadium is a baseball stadium located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The stadium broke ground on November 3, 1940, and it opened for the public on July 4, 1942, with a construction cost of $1.5 million. The venue is under the ownership of the City of Pawtucket while Pawtucket Red Sox Baseball Club Inc operates it. The facility's capacity is 11,800, including grass berm, bleachers, and standing room section, with 10,031 for permanent seating. The stadium features a Natural Grass surface. Mark Linenthal and Thomas F. Harding do the architecture of the building. The facility served as the home field of the Pawtucket Red Sox (PawSox) from 1970 through 2020. It is a Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Some of the past tenants of the stadium are Rhode Island Steelers (ACFL) 1966, Pawtucket Indians (EL) 1966–1967, and Pawtucket Red Sox (EL) 1970–1972.
McCoy Stadium hosted an affiliated minor league team Pawtucket Slaters, a Boston Braves farm team, in 1946. The facility later hosted the longest professional baseball game in history in 1981. The PawSox defeated the Rochester Red Wings by a score of 3–2 in 33 innings. There are several unique features of the stadium, such as the expansive foul territory. Before the 1998 renovation, a series of murals depicting notable former PawSox players was exhibited in the facility. The venue underwent renovations in 1992 and 1999 and also expanded in 1999.
