Alberta B. Farrington Softball Stadium is located in Tempe, Arizona, and is the home for the Arizona State Sun Devils softball team. The stadium is owned and operated by the University. It has a seating capacity of 1,535, including chairback bleachers. Alberta B. Farrington Softball Stadium was inaugurated for the public in 2000 and designed by Jones Studio, Inc. The building underwent renovations twice, in 2013 and 2014.
Farrington Stadium is one of the top collegiate fields in the nation, offering high-end amenities. In the renovations, a new press box and solar panels were added to the venue.
The home team of Farrington Softball Stadium has earned 16 postseason bids and made four trips to the Women’s College World Series. Before the current NCAA format, the team also went to seven WCWS, claiming back-to-back national titles in 1972, 1973, and the latest one in 2008. Sweeping the Texas A&M Aggies (3 game sweep) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the home team won the universities’ first Women’s College World Series.
A brand-new netting system was installed at Farrington Softball Stadium in February of 2019. West Coast Netting Incorporated did the installation. The netting system is poleless and uses high tension cables to hold the netting taut strong.
