Emens Auditorium, also known as John R. Emens College-Community Auditorium, is an art-performing venue located at 1800 West Riverside Avenue, Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. The auditorium opened to the general public on March 14, 1964, with a construction cost of $2.975 million. Walter Scholer designed the architecture of the building. It has a seating capacity of around 3,581 people. The venue underwent renovations in 1995 and 2005.
The Emens Auditorium hosts Broadway shows, plays, comedy shows, children's shows, concerts, dance recitals, convocations, some other university events, as well as regional events for eastern Indiana. Many world-renowned artists, musicians, and the shows have been performed at the stage of the auditorium, including President Ford, Stevie Wonder, David Letterman, Victor Borge, Louis Armstrong, Magician David Copperfield, etc. Some popular comedians like Adam Sandler and George Carlin also performed here. Jason Mraz, Hello Dolly, Hunter Hayes, Sierra Hull, Victor Borge, Les Misérables, B. B. King, Red Skelton, The Temptations, Dixie Chicks, and the Third Eye Blind also rocked the venue's stage. America's singing-master, Fredrick Malcolm Waring, hosted a concert in the theater at its opening ceremony.
A famous comedian Bill Cosby performed at the venue on March 28, 1969. An American basketball coach Bob Knight delivered a lecture on October 3, 2013. In 2013, renowned journalist Soledad O'BrienO'Brien spoke at the auditorium in front of a huge crowd.
