Tom Cotter Information
Thomas Cotter (June 20, 1963) is an American comedian. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Cotter earned his primary education at Providence's Moses Brown School and his bachelor's degree from Denison University. He has been featured on such shows as Jay Leno's Tonight Show, Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show, and NBC's Last Comic Standing. Cotter recorded a Comedy Central half-hour special in 2003. Cotter is a multiple-time comedy contest winner. He triumphed at the International Stand-Up Comedy Competition in Seattle in 1994.
He first found popularity in the Boston comedy scene, where he remains a fan favorite. He has since won the Boston Comedy Festival Grand Prize and been named Best Stand-Up at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Cotter has also contributed to stage and screen projects and developed a novel idea in 2012. Cotter competed on the seventh season of America's Got Talent on NBC in 2012. The three judges on the show sent him to Sin City. He made it to the quarterfinals, the top 48, and will perform in front of a live audience in Newark, New Jersey.
He made it to the championship round of six and finished second overall. On the evening of August 21, 2013, Cotter returned to perform on the results show.
