The infamous prison in San Francisco known as Alcatraz is the inspiration for the show's concept at the Slammer Cirque. Manuel Rebecchi, the founder of Cirque Italia and the nephew of Moira Orfei, the internationally renowned queen of the Italian circus, is responsible for the company's inception.
The circus is something that Rebecchi has grown up with, and he wants to take those traditions and push the boundaries of what a circus show can be. The Slammer Cirque is told from the perspective of two of the greatest friends who spend their time together inside a very dangerous jail populated by extremely talented inmates and guards. The audience will be absolutely blown away by the incredible stunts that the inmates and guards perform.
