The Passing Zone Information
The Passing Zone is a comedy-juggling duo consisting of Owen Morse and Jon Wee. Wee and Morse practiced their act for several years at colleges, trade shows, and comedy clubs. The first known jugglers to pass eleven clubs between them were these two. Additionally, their performances have been praised for being inventive because they came up with routines like "people juggling" and "The Chainsaw Ballet," which were performed to The Blue Danube (featuring three audience members hanging from special rigging).
The pair has won 18 IJA gold medals and five Guinness World Records. The Passing Zone was one of the many acts performed at the Royal Variety Performance for Prince Charles of England in 1994 at the Dominion Theatre. Prince Charles praised their act, saying, "Very clever, but I'm glad I wasn't sitting in the front row!" In halftime shows at NBA, CBA, and NCAA sporting events, Wee and Morse have performed.
Television shows, including Comic Strip Live, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1990 and 1991), and Donny & Marie, have all featured them. The White House has hosted "guest performers" Wee and Morse. The World Juggling Federation competitions on ESPN were covered by them and by a guest commentator hired for the job. The Chicago tryouts for season one of America's Got Talent, aired on July 5, 2006, was where The Passing Zone debuted.
